Πραγματοποιήθηκε ενημερωτική δράση των χωρισμένων ανηλίκων και των συγγενών που τα συνοδεύουν στο Κ.Υ.Τ. Φυλακίου από την Ομάδα Παιδικής Προστασίας της ΑΡΣΙΣ για την ενημέρωση και ευαισθητοποίηση πάνω στο ζήτημα της παιδικής εργασίας.
Πολλά παιδιά στον κόσμο εργάζονται χωρίς τη θέλησή τους και συχνά εξαναγκάζονται από τις οικογένειές τους. Σε αντίθεση με άλλες ομάδες ανθρώπων, τα παιδιά δεν έχουν ή έχουν περιορισμένη ικανότητα από μόνα τους να διεκδικήσουν τα δικαιώματά τους και να υπερασπιστούν τον εαυτό τους. Με βάση αυτές τις προβληματικές ξεκίνησε η συζήτηση με τα χωρισμένα ανήλικα και τους συγγενείς που τα συνοδεύουν και διαμένουν προσωρινά στο ΚΥΤ Φυλακίου. Ακολούθησε μία σύντομη ανάλυση του νομικού πλαισίου γύρω από την παιδική εργασία, όπως αυτό έχει θεσμοθετηθεί από τη Σύμβαση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών του 1989 για τα Δικαιώματα του Παιδιού, το Χάρτη Θεμελιωδών Δικαιωμάτων της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης και την ελληνική νομοθεσία.
Επιπρόσθετα τέθηκε ο ορισμός της παιδικής εργασίας, οι αιτίες και οι συνέπειες αυτής στην ψυχική και σωματική ανάπτυξη του παιδιού. Τέθηκαν παραδείγματα από διάφορες χώρες ως προς τη διαχείριση του φαινομένου και τα παιδιά συζήτησαν για το πώς αντιλαμβάνονται την παιδική εργασία, αναφέροντας παραδείγματα από τη χώρα καταγωγής τους. Υπήρξε ενδυνάμωση και ενθάρρυνση των ανηλίκων και των συγγενών τους για την κατάρριψη αυτού του φαινομένου και επισημάνθηκε η σπουδαιότητα της σχολικής φοίτησης.
Διαμοιράστηκαν φυλλάδια με τη Σύμβαση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών για τα Δικαιώματα του Παιδιού και με τηλέφωνα έκτακτης ανάγκης στα οποία μπορούν να καλούν για βοήθεια σε περίπτωση παιδικής κακοποίησης, με επεξήγηση της κάθε υπηρεσίας που παρέχει ο εκάστοτε Φορέας ή Οργανισμός.
Η Ομάδα Παιδικής Προστασίας της ΑΡΣΙΣ στην περιοχή του Έβρου (ΚΥΤ Φυλακίου) λειτουργεί στο πλαίσιο του έργου “MERIMNA III-Protection at Greek borders (Supporting Unaccompanied Migrant Children at the Greek borders and Lesvos Safe Area)”,το οποίο υλοποιείται από τον Διεθνή Οργανισμό Μετανάστευσης (ΔΟΜ) IOM Greece με την υποστήριξη της Τσεχικής Δημοκρατίας.
Raising awareness activity about child labour by the Child Protection Team of ARSIS in the RIC Fylakio
The Child Protection Team of ARSIS in RIC Fylakio had an information session to the separated minors and their relatives who accompany them for informing and raising awareness on the issue of child labour on 24th April.
Many children in the world work against their will and they are often forced by their families. Unlike other groups of people, children do not have or have a limited capacity on their own to assert their rights and defend themselves. Based on these concerns, we had the discussion with the separated minors and their relatives who accompany them and temporarily reside in the RIC Fylakio. This was followed by a brief analysis of the legal framework around child labour, as it is established by the Convention on the Rights of the Child of United Nations in 1989, the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and Greek legislation.
In addition, our team referred to the definition of child labour, its causes and consequences on the mental and physical development of the child. Examples were given from different countries regarding the management of the phenomenon and the children discussed how they perceive child labour, citing examples from their country of origin. There was empowerment and encouragement of the minorsand their relatives to break this phenomenon and we pointed out how importantis the school attendance.
Leaflets were distributed with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and with emergency telephone numbers where they can call for help in case of child abuse, with an explanation of each service provided by each Agency or Organization.
The ARSIS Child Protection Team in Evros region (RIC Fylakio) operates under the program “MERIMNA III-Protection at Greek borders (Supporting Unaccompanied Migrant Children at the Greek borders and Lesvos Safe Area)”, which is implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Greece with the support of the Czech Republic.
