Συγκεκριμένα έγινε αναφορά από τους κοινωνικούς λειτουργούς της ομάδας για το πόσο σημαντική είναι η τυπική και η μη τυπική εκπαίδευση για τους ανηλίκους, ποια τα οφέλη για αυτούς, τι δυνατότητες προσφέρονται μετά τη φοίτηση στα δημόσια ελληνικά σχολεία και τον ρόλο του κοινωνικού λειτουργού σε αυτά.
Η δικηγόρος της ομάδας αναφέρθηκε στη δυνατότητα χορήγησης της άδειας διαμονής δεκαετούς διάρκειας κατόπιν ολοκλήρωσης των προαπαιτούμενων ετών φοίτησης στα ελληνικά σχολεία, τις προϋποθέσεις χορήγησής της και τα δικαιώματα που έχουν οι πολίτες τρίτων χωρών μετά την απόκτησή της.
Η δράση πραγματοποιήθηκε με διαδραστικό τρόπο καθώς οι ανήλικοι συμμετείχαν ενεργά στη συζήτηση εκφράζοντας τις απορίες τους γύρω από το θέμα και αναφέροντας ο κάθε ένας από αυτούς τους εκπαιδευτικούς και επαγγελματικούς του στόχους.
Η Ομάδα Παιδικής Προστασίας της ΑΡΣΙΣ στην περιοχή του Έβρου λειτουργεί στο πλαίσιο του έργου Merimna III – Supporting unaccompanied migrant children at Greek borders, το οποίο υλοποιείται από τον Διεθνή Οργανισμό Μετανάστευσης (ΔΟΜ) IOM Greece με την υποστήριξη του Υπουργείου Δικαιοσύνης και Ασφάλειας της Ολλανδίας (Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid).
On the occasion of World Education Day which was established on 24th January, an information session about education was held for the UMC who temporarily reside in the RIC Fylakio by the Child Protection Team of ARSIS. Specifically, the social workers informed the minors about the importance of formal and non-formal education, how they can benefit through education, the possibilities they can have after attending Greek public schools, and the role of the social worker in the educational system. The lawyer of the team referred to the possibility of granting a ten-year residence permit after completing 3 years of studies in Greek high schools, the conditions for its granting, and the rights that citizens of third countries can have with this residence permit.
The activity was carried out in an interactive way as the minors actively participated in the discussion, expressing their questions about the topic and referring to their educational and professional goals in the future.
The ARSIS Child Protection Team in the Evros region (RIC Fylakio) operates under the program Merimna III – Supporting unaccompanied migrant children at Greek Borders project, which is implemented by the International Organization for Migration IOM in Greece (IOM Greece) with the support of the Ministry of Justice and Security of the Netherlands (Ministerie van Justitie en Veiligheid).
