European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings<\/u><\/strong>
In the framework of the European Day against Human Trafficking on October 18th, the ARSIS Child Protection Team carried out a special action at the Reception and Identification Centre (RIC) of Filaki\u03bf to the unaccompanied minor children who reside there. The event aimed to raise awareness among minors about this serious issue and provide them with information about their rights. During the event, the team’s lawyer presented the forms of human trafficking, the legal framework around it, and the risks that unaccompanied refugee minors may face during their life course. The participation and interaction of the children, who shared their own experiences and concerns, was important.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, through group discussions and creative activities that followed with the Child Protection Officers, the value of their safety and protection was better understood. Finally, there was information about support services and the distribution of emergency line telephone numbers that minors can call if they feel threatened or in need. This action was an opportunity for information and an attempt to strengthen the sense of community and solidarity among children, enabling them to express their thoughts and feelings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
