TIATAS<\/a> European Conference took place yesterday with the participation of almost 300 people from Greece, Italy, Spain and Germany.
The speakers in the plenary session Zsuzsanna Felkai Janssen<\/strong>, Team Leader of the Anti-Trafficking team atEuropean Commission, Tatiana Kotlyarenko<\/strong>, Advisor on Anti-Trafficking Issues at OSCE\/ODIHR, Suzanne Hoff<\/strong>, International Coordinator of La Strada International and Nilde Robotti<\/strong>, Vulnerability Officer at European Union Agency for Asylum highlighted the European dimension of the phenomenon and the challenges in the transnational response to trafficking. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Greek breakout room we had the honour to host\u00a0Angeliki Serafeim<\/strong>, Legal Advisor of the EMA,\u00a0Korina Hadjinikolaou<\/strong>, Assistant Professor of Developmental Psychopathology, TEPAE, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and\u00a0Katerina Poutou<\/strong>, Social Worker, Legal Representative of ARSIS. Moderated by\u00a0Nicolas Panagiotopoulos<\/strong>\u00a0from the Greek section of\u00a0IRC<\/a>, we discussed the challenges of the implementation of the EMA, the social path towards the recognition of victims and the political dimension of the phenomenon.
As we move towards the completion of the project, let us stress the necessity of developing policies that will consistently and effectively support victims of trafficking and highlight the phenomenon in in its full dimension.
