class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>ANNOUNCEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Completion of the latest work in the accommodation of vulnerable women asylum seekers and other services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ARSIS \u2013 Association for the Social Support of Youth is implementing the project \u201cDIAPLOUS\u201d, which is funded under the \u201cAsylum and Migration\u201d Programme, part of the EEA\/Norway Grants 2014-2021, in collaboration with Human Rights 360 and SOL Consulting S.A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the \u201cDIAPLOUS\u201d project,\u00a0 there are (16) accommodation places in three apartments in the broader area of Thessaloniki for vulnerable women asylum seekers and their underaged children. The duration of the program is (12) months with a possibility of extension. The project addresses <strong>the lack of adequate accommodation places and specific services for vulnerable women and their children<\/strong>. The program is orientated towards vulnerable women asylum seekers, who are singles or single-parents and live under precarious conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During November and under very difficult circumstances due to the restrictive measures against the spread of COVID-19, DIAPLOUS team completed the pending repairs in two more apartments for vulnerable asylum seekers women. At the same time, DIAPLOUS team conducted online and in-person interviews and as a result, during November and December, (14) fourteen beneficiaries were admitted to the program. Under a general condition of uncertainty (7) seven women and (7), seven children managed to have decent accommodation and be provided with a support network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In specific, the program offers psychological, psychosocial, legal support and job counselling through individual and group sessions with the support of translators. The fundamental purpose of the program is the holistic support, the <strong>empowerment of<\/strong> the beneficiaries and the development of an inner sense of control in order to feel strong and take the control of their lives.
