In recent years, social and economic developments have caused aggravation of social problems. Large parts of the population led to unemployment or underemployment. They live in poverty, face homelessness, excluded from public health, isolated and marginalized .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These new conditions invite the local community to meet the challenges and to actively participate in solving critical problems by taking a more active role and utilizing opportunities for the benefit of all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards this direction within the project \u201cNetwork of social structures to combat poverty in the Municipality of Pavlos Melas\u201d, Arsis NGO in cooperation with the Municipality of Pavlos Melas make the creation of six social structures , which are: the Social Grocery, the Social Pharmacy, the Soup Kitchen Service, the Public Kitchen Garden, the Intermediation Office and the Time Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Social Grocery<\/strong>
It provides food, household items and clothing to individuals and families residing in the Municipality of Pavlos Melas and having difficulty coping with their daily needs.

Social Pharmacy<\/strong>
It covers the needs for pharmaceutical care of Municipality\u2019s residents, who are excluded from the public health by providing medicines, medical supplies for primary care and parapharmaceutical products gratis.

Soup Kitchen Service<\/strong>
It provides free lunch in a daily basis to Municipality\u2019s residents who face financial difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public Kitchen Garden<\/strong>
It provides the possibility to 100 Municipality\u2019s residents to cultivate their own individual piece of land to cover a part of their nutrition needs, contributing also with their production to the reinforcement of the Social Grocery and the Soup Kitchen Service, through procedures of massive cultivation.

Intermediation Office<\/strong>
\u2022 It offers services of social support and information services to the residents of Municipality of Pavlos Melas.
