{"id":15543,"date":"2018-05-25T09:44:57","date_gmt":"2018-05-25T06:44:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.arsis.gr\/?p=15543"},"modified":"2018-05-25T09:44:57","modified_gmt":"2018-05-25T06:44:57","slug":"press-release-overcrowded-open-structure-refugee-camps-in-diavata-and-lagadikia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/arsis.gr\/en\/press-release-overcrowded-open-structure-refugee-camps-in-diavata-and-lagadikia\/","title":{"rendered":"PRESS RELEASE: Overcrowded open-structure refugee camps in Diavata and Lagadikia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The refugees living in the open-structure camps in Diavata and Lagadikia experience unbearable conditions and have, therefore, organized protests since the 23<sup>rd<\/sup> of May, taking place in the temporary reception center, that is, the former military base \u201cAnagnostopoulou\u201d in Diavata.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Refugee flows, mainly through the land borders in Evros, have grown in the past two months and are expected to grow even more during summer, causing insufferable overcrowding in Northern Greece\u2019s reception centers.<\/p>\n<p>Suffice it to say that Diavata\u2019s capacity is exhausted as it was designed to accommodate 750 people.
