Our #ESC Volunteer, Giulia, had the chance to participate and assist the kids during the Refugee Week’s activities. Here is what she has to say:
Participating in the Refugee Week activity was a memorable experience. The event brought together children from different shelters to play football, giving them the opportunity to make new friends and feel part of a wider community. The children also had the opportunity to design their own T-shirts using stencils and spray paints, which allowed them to express themselves in a fun and artistic way. In addition, there was also a cultural stand, offering traditional dishes, thus celebrating diversity. The event was also a great opportunity for me to meet other volunteers participating in the European Solidarity Corps from different organisations, exchange experiences, and learn about their projects. Therefore, the activity highlighted the importance of inclusion, cultural exchange, and creating welcoming spaces where kids can meet and connect with each other.
